Catharine oversees marketing efforts for CornerCap, which include digital and traditional communications as well as public relations and events. She brings two decades of marketing experience to the firm, including brand management, advertising, PR and sales. Prior to joining CornerCap, she spent nearly 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, leading brands through every life cycle stage and shepherding companies through a range of crises and business challenges in response to the evolving healthcare landscape.
Her career began at PR firm Ketchum where she supported such pharmaceutical companies as Pfizer before transitioning to the client side with Belgium-based Solvay Pharmaceuticals. At Solvay, she spent several years on the front lines of the healthcare ecosystem as a pharmaceutical sales rep in addition to holding roles in corporate communications and product marketing. Catharine continued marketing and business strategy management roles at Abbott (later AbbVie) when Solvay was acquired, ultimately serving as Chief of Staff to the Divisional Vice President leading a $4B division of the company.
Following her time at AbbVie, Catharine consulted with multi-national pharmaceutical companies on their product marketing strategies as a Senior Vice President at Chicago-based Golin before returning to Atlanta to build and lead consumer marketing strategy for UCB Pharma’s Immunology franchise. Most recently prior to joining CornerCap, Catharine served as Executive Vice President and Head of the South Region leading Edelman’s Healthcare book of business, which diversified her experience into the medical device, hospital system and public health spaces, including work with the Centers for Disease Control.
Throughout her roles in healthcare marketing, Catharine has partnered extensively with patient advocacy groups across a variety of therapeutic areas, including Cystic Fibrosis, Pancreatic Diseases and Men’s Health and has a passion for philanthropic work. Catharine completed her BA at The University of Georgia and MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
